I am trying to create a custom party in Wizardry 8, and when I get to the final stage and have to choose a portrait, voice, etc., it will not allow me to type in anything on the name / nickname fields. So I can't create a character... I am not sure how I did it, but I did manage to get 2 characters done, but the other four I am stuck on. I have zero interest in playing the 'provided' party. Can anyone help?

Odd. Try hitting the tab key a few times. Also clicking on the name fields. Beyond that, I'd say consider a reboot and making sure you don't have a stuck key somewhere. Kind of a longshot on the last part, but, you never know.

I also had difficulties naming characters. The source of my problem was alt-tabbing out of the game to check something and then coming back in. Apparently this creates some kind of error in keyboard input. Pressing alt a few times, as the previous poster suggested, solved the problem for me. I also experience a similar problem in normal gameplay, where, if I alt-tab out, the keyboard is non-responsive when I return. Pressing alt a few times solves this problem as well.

I solved this problem after some experimentation.

Press Alt+Ctrl and release. Fixes it every time for me.
