I second that. This is probably my favorite game of all time. I'm having a lot of fun with my level 30 MDP.
Since the game just turned old enough to drink alcohol (according to US law, may be different in other countries), here's some interesting facts regarding it:
* The non-learnable spell Booze (found on alcoholic beverages)l causes random effects on the user. One of them is Superman, which can be used outside of combat this way. (There are actual uses for this; the extra carrying capacity will mitigate encumbrance party-wide, casters may gain some (temporary) extra SP, and the extra Strength may make it easier to force open lock, for example.)
* I believe Booze might be level 7 and cost 20 SP per power level (I don't remember the realm, but I *think* it's Divine). Of course, since this spell isn't learnable (it isn't in any of the 4 spellbooks), this tidbit doesn't actually matter as far as I know, unless you somehow need to make a magic resistance check against this spell.
* You can't drink a potion in an anti-magic area. Just try drinking a potion of Superman; it won't work. However, this rule does not apply to drinks; that Doubleman's Drought that you happen to be carrying around will work in that anti-magic area. (Related is that bard instruments will also fail, but gadgeteer gadgets will work.)
That's interesting. Since my 4 specialist casters just unlocked Iron Will, and no magic-using enemies spawn in Arnika, I wonder if chugging booze from He'Li would increase Iron Will. It's probably too annoying to worry about, as I would have to camp so He'Li will restock her booze.
I believe that you can do the trick in the Lower Monastery, in the coffin room near Gregor. The middle coffin on the left is trapped, and will unleash Noxious Fumes on the party. I believe that's a viable way to train it as well. Even the Mage has enough hit points to handle it (93), and I just so have a portal to Burz.
Edit: Also, Powercast can be increased by repeatedly casting Heal Wounds and Cure Lesser Condition (everybody but the Mage gets these spells). I don't think enemies usually enter that room either.
Double edit: Thanks, dtgreene, for the reminder. I normally don't like to train like this, but Iron Will is a tough one to train "fairly". I managed to get the 4 casters' Iron Will skill to at least 50 by repeatedly opening and closing said coffin.
