I know to assay the items to see who can equip them, etc... but most guides seem to be showing damage levels like... 2d6 and whatnot and I cannot figure out how to compare weapon equipment. Unlike armors, there doesnt seem to be any change in the 'review' screen after I equip new weapons.

Any advice?

You need to use the Identity spell to get full* details on weapons.

* Except for items with "Special Powers" you won't be told the details about the Special Power.
