It's pretty hard to find decent Wizardry resources these days, so here are the walkthroughs for the last 3 parts:

Would you recommend using your walkthrough for a first playthrough of Wizardry 8? Or is Wizardry 8 a better experience without one? Sometimes these older RPG's can be quite frustrating having lots of missable items, puzzles with unintuitive or incredibly obscure answers, etc. Is that the case with Wizardry 8?

Aside from the one issue I've posted about in another thread (and that might just be me having another glasses moment), I don't think you really need a walkthrough to play or complete Wizardry 8. There are a few issues that can occur and block your progress, but those aren't really intentional ones and can (usually) be worked around, so it's helpful to have one available just in case.

The retro dungeons are a possible exception, but you pretty much know what you're getting into if you try those...

Depends whether you like making your own grid maps. Wizardry 6 doesn't seem to be remotely playable unless either (a) you're keen on mapping or (b) you follow someone's map-assisted walkthrough.

I'm keen on mapping but I'm all out of grid paper around my house so I'm leaning on walkthroughs right now.

EDIT: Nevermind, the person I was answering was talking abotu Wiz 8.

If you want to play them the first time around without any spoilers, I would recommend at least having a look at the sections dealing with creating your characters and party. It is far easier to create a bad party that doesn't work well for you than it is to create an effective party that works for you, thus prompting restart syndrom. The Dark Savant trilogy, much more so than a lot of the other older crpgs, placed a premium on effective character and party design and planning.

Beyond that, it is entirely possible to make it through all three without consulting walkthroughs. You might, however, want to look at the guides to get a sense of where you can do better next time, what you missed, etc.
