Do priests need good intelligence for their spellcasting? And do mages need good piety to cast theirs?
No. Actually, the only effect of these stats is that they affect your chance to *learh* spells at level up; once you know a spell, your stat is irrelevant to actually casting it.

A priest does not need intelligence; a mage does not need piety. (The only exception comes after class change, as you can still learn more spells if you know at least one spell of that level; this is most important for those two priest spells (Loktofeit and Ihalon) that are forgotten after use, as every other spell is permanent once learned.).
No. Priests need Piety to learn new spells, and Mages need Intelligence. If too low they will learn spells too slowly. Bishops need both.
Ok, thank you. That is what I thought, but the manual was a bit vague on this.
