Title says it all. Try to launch and I get the busy cursor and then....nothing. I have been waiting for this for so long. Must. Play. Soon.

I suppose you want us to guess what the problem is... give us a hint at what types of equipment you have installed... just to make it sporting?

A suggestion from the other thread was to run it from the command line, which seems to work. The similar issue in the other thread seemed to be caused by the UAC dialogbox.

However, you might just try unchecking the "run as administrator" box on the shortcut and see if that helps. (Though you might also need to uncheck "run as administrator" on the .exe too if it still asks for permission.)

I really don't recommend doing that, unless GOG have done some other kind of patching to the game. When I played it in XP, Vista and 7 a few years ago, the game would run without being in administrator mode, but this caused a lot of weird bugs, corrupted save games and every chest in the world being open and empty when I found them.
Starting in administrator mode fixed all those issues.
