I've been experimenting trying to find the right party to give a proper go to Wizardry 7 (DOS). I thought I finally had it, but my Bard doesn't seem to get skulduggery points from picking locks, only by assigning points. Skulduggery will go up far too slowly if I have to do it solely through leveling.

When I was experimenting with thief, skulduggery frequently went up by picking a lock. So is it only thieves that can learn skulduggery by doing it, or am I just having a nasty string of bad luck with the Bard?
