Wizardry 8:

Basically the title... I remapped my movement keys to wasd because, im normal, and things work flawlessly in game. After exiting and dealing with "the real world" for hopefully not that long I re-enter this kickass game only to find all my remapping work (yes, all 35 seconds of it) has been reset to default. THE HORROR!!! I know, its a very minor gripe for a game that still makes anything that's come out in the last 15 years look like a joke, but is there any way to make these changes permanent or is this just a minor glitch from running a 15 year old game?

tldr: my wasd keys map for the session but then reset to default after exiting. Thanks!

I'm not seeing this on my end (Windows 8).

Did you do something unusual, e.g. installing into Program Files? If that's what you did try reinstalling in a non-protected location (default is C:\GOG Games\Wizardry 8).
I have the same issue. I'm running on mac in Wine and the game is not in the Program Files location.
I found the solution in my instance, Wiz8.CFG in the /Wizardry 8/ directory was read-only.
