I played ages back, so I know there's certain items needed in the game, and i know their locations. But even using the the search function, no one is finding them. The only successful searches I've had were finding a piece of armor and a note.

Is Search a "Find it now, or forget it" thing? I mean, can I keep trying to find the items? I do recall you have to search the squares, and not just a general Search in one spot. Does Scouting skill matter, or even help? Thanks.

Which item specifically can't you find? There are specific squares on which you need to search, and sometimes you need to face a specific direction. Scouting doesn't really matter that much but it can help, just like the Detect Secret spell.

Well, I think I'm screwed. It's the key in the "Sevices Room" where you end up if you jump down into the pit where the altar of Ramm is, then fight the snake. I fought the snake...but I can't find the key, now matter what direction in which I search, and I know from walkthroughs where the key is. game is acting like it isn't there, so I think I might need to restart...

EDIT--Never mind, I'm a moron. I thought it was a different key. I was playing very late at night the other night. Thanks for the answer.
