It only lets me pick fighter, mage, priest, thief, ranger, alchemist and bard
Chose a different race, or reroll until you get enough bonus points to make a Valkyrie.
Or make a Priest and class change later when the Priest's stats increase.

Duh, I didn't think of the obvious thing in my reply. :facepalm
Hang on........ BananaJane sounds like a girls name to me! Also, BananaJane is Fruit Furry and Pink!

I'm sorry not to be able to help with the problem, but this thread did brighten up my morning. :)

Thanks! The manual didn't mention that!
Does rolling a Ranger or Fighter and changing later do the same thing? (EDIT: same thing as rolling a priest and changing when the stats change) I am pretty new at the game, as I picked it up two days ago.

Not quite.
A character's level is used in most combat calculations, so a character who never changed class will be of higher level and thus get an advantage (or less penalty) against enemies. Especially against enemy spells can a few levels in difference be noticeable.
But a character that changed class will have higher skills (and higher magic skills means access to higher level spells) due to getting those extra skill points when leveling in his second class.

Another thing to consider is that a character's mana regenration is based on his starting class, so characters starting as Priest, Mage, Bishop, Alchemist or Psychic will always have an advantage in that regard.

Thanks for the information. I have been trying to figure some of these things out. I downloaded the clue book and one walkthrough. I have rolled a few characters as a trial and walked around a couple of levels in the dungeon.

I have some more questions and have not found a thread here that answers them, so might start a thread shortly to ask.
Is there a way to reroll stats instead of making a character to the end or closing the game and cancelling it and starting from scratch?
Well, for 8, you can keep your party and ongoing game while re-rolling just one individual character, if that is your wish. From the character screen, just click on their name, then click the two circular arrows at the bottom left. They'll start at level 1, but it shouldn't be too big of a deal if you've mostly just started.

You can roll up a new character for that spot and that’s sometimes the best option i.e. if you have imported a party from 6/7 into 8. Put their gear into the party inventory and swap her for a new level 1 character… the game will treat this new girl as having been in the party all along when it comes to any dialogues.
Are you talking about Wizardry 6 or Wizardry 8? I am playing a little bit of 6 right now and downloading 8.

EDIT: I just downloaded 8 and the OP seems to be referencing Wizardry 6.
