Hi. I wonder how the skill effect will be after changing class. For example, if my ranger have 'scouting' skill and then he changed into something else and the 'scouting' became 'closed'. I'm not sure if the auto-search will still be in effect.

Also, the 'critical strike' that the samurai/ninja/monk all have, will it still be in effect after changing class to something else? I can see that the magic skills of the magic specialist classes are still there and can still be casted even if changed to non-caster classes. But maybe those magic skills won't be improved anymore except changing the class back.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I mean in Wizardry 8.

Edit2: I'm sorry I didn't flag this as question. I didn't know. Anyway, I think I have the answer now. All skills learned will retain but cannot progress further if the new class cannot learn the skills, i.e. Fighter cannot progress on any magic skills but he/she still can use magic skills that are already learned from previous class. This applies to every skill. That means a Valkyrie can still perform 'critical strike' if she was a Samurai and have learned some 'critical strike' skill. But she cannot progress any further in 'critical strike' skill.
