Looked through the forums but I don't really see an answer for not being able to start at all. My drivers are all updated and I can change setting, but any attempt to actually start the game (even running as administrator) doesn't seem to do anything.

I was able to get it working by following these instructions. First I removed the srDD_Glide2x.dll file from the DLL folder; I got a lot more resolutions to show up for my graphics options including 32 bit ones, but it still wouldn't run. Then I tried moving the game directory to my root directory and renaming the folder "Wiz8", so my new filepath is C:\Wiz8

Voila! That worked for me, hope this helps!

UPDATE: I fixed the issue. Here is what worked for me.
1. Move the install folder to the C:/ Drive.
2. Run nglide_config.exe in the game folder.
3. Make sure you select screen resolution: By Desktop
4. Run the game using Wiz8.exe
