Playing a new game after a few years. Weird little bug. My gamma/brightness slider doesn't see to do anything. Here is the contents of my 3DVideo.cfg file:

DirectX7
1920
1080
32
Creative Labs EAX 2 (TM)
Any fix? Thanks.

mine is working fine... you are loaded into a save yes i.e, actually playing before making adjustments?

Yup. Maybe it is a Windows 10 thing?
I'm on Windows 10 so thats not it... these are my settings if you want to try them

Thanks. Then the only real difference is GLIDE vs. DX7. The brightness/gamma control works using GLIDE.

Got it working. I tried dgVoodoo2 using the x86 option and now the slider works. As a bonus, you can tweak color/contrast as well.
cool, modern Gpu tend to emulate directx functions so its likely to be a case by case scenario... enjoy the game mate
Thanks. This is about the umpteenth time that I have played W8. Finally got around to trying one of Flamestryke's mods, FlameFinalMod-version4c. It keeps the vanilla feel and enhances it.

I remember being part of the community when Flamestryke was making that mod. It was a damn same about their death, they had some real talent.
