Hey, I'm having a lot of trouble trying to play the game. The first time I launched the game it ran perfectly fine, no issues at all. Tried to launch it the next day and it fails to launch. I see it pop up in Task Manager for a split second, along with a Windows problem reporting program, but both disappear very quickly. Both the 3d setup and nglide programs open just fine.

So far I've tried removing numerous files suggested by guides, changing settings in the 3dsetup and nglide, and doing a full reinstall of both the game and the GoG launcher. The official GoG fix tells me that the game isn't installed.

I'd greatly appreciate any help.

For some reason this game requires being installed on the c drive default directory. At least for me that was the only way to get it to run. I think it may be a registry issue. If so, I wish Gog could release a registry fix so we can install it anywhere.

That is really strange. I currently reinstalled windows 10 on my computer and I have like 4 different copies of the game none of which were installed through the installer but were just copied to their current location and they all run fine. Just so you know I've got like 3 different mods and the original.
1. the Gog game does not require install to C drive but it does assume Windows 7 and defaults to my documents which means installing on modern systems = you don't get the starting characters or sample save game
2. The official GoG fix = no such thing but there was an old patch for the base game i.e, disc and that patch assumes C drive so should not be used with Gog builds
3. the started ok first time then fail after that will be your system not allowing access because it is set up wrong
interesting. I don't remember using anything outside the Gog installer. I didn't install through galaxy but on its own if that's anything. Maybe I had the same problem as the op and it just didn't affect the install when on c drive official? Ill look into it because id rather not run old games on a SSD.
