hey guys, in Wiz8 I accidentally attacked the monks in the temple in Arnika and now my faction rating with the brotherhood is hostile. Therefore I can not talk to Braffit, he attacks immediately. Unfortunately i do not have an older save before I attacked the monks :/ My question now:

1. I learned from several guides that you can talk to Braffit and learn about the Ascension Peak, Cosmic Lord and the Dark Savant, tower/bomb, Marten ect. Do you get quest from him or is it ok if i have to fight and kill him now. Is that bad because of the brotherhood? Are they relevant later on in the game? Or shall I avoid visiting/killing braffit and later on he might be friendly again if I deal with the tower/bomb.
2. Is it possible to change the faction ratings in an editor?

Just don't want to go on in the game and run into an dead or unsatisfying direction.

Talking to Braffit is not required for the plot, you could just ignore him.
Not sure if killing him (or more monks) may turn other Arnika citizens hostile.

It may be sufficient to spend 3 days in Arnika without meeting any brotherhood member to fix the issue
(just rest 9 times in a building with a door)

To make Braffit and his monks friendly again with help of "external forces", get madgod's Cosmic Forge Editor from mad-god.webs.com/
(no need to setup dll injection for the game, not even freeimage.dll is required for this operation)
Open the NPC script of any NPC in the game and select an empty script block.
1st add some text to be displayed in game, for instance "i will tell my friend Braffitt what a nice person you are", or select to suppress the text message.
Now either add a "detect phrase" or a "detect item giving" command in the same block,
followed by a "modify faction rating" command, where the faction rating of the brotherhood of the ascension is raised by lets say 80.
Save the script, this will create a file named NPC_[npc_name].nsf, inside a new folder named "npc scripts" which sits in the games \data folder.
In game either say the magic word(s) to the NPC or give the appropriate item.
To revert back to vanilla, delete the file NPC_[npc_name].nsf along with the folder \npc scripts.

its possible to finish the game yes... I would still disable the bomb but that isn't actually forced so if you really want to be a shit you can

does he get quest info = yes but they are minor talks and most of the info / points can be got without him

i would start a new game

Not sure what you are talking bout, rather unlikely based on missing insight into the game mechanics.

Braffit has no effect on disarming the bomb, his connection to it is global variable (aka Fact) ID#794 in NPC script block 176,
where he checks if the quest was done, but that is only triggered by keyword input from player,
so him being hostile merely has the potential of losing the 40k xp points for giving him the keyword after disarming.

The game was designed to allow players a ton of different ways to win,
no need to start a new run even without the npc script solution.
