I sometimes have in a fight that my people never hit, this can be with a small spider but also with a king crab went just so the Gregor defeated but a small spider is done only per round nothing at all only the spider attacks and all chars with a protect symbol above and below the weapon.;-(

And I thought spiders were the friendly neighbors from next door. yes I like Spiderman movies.;-)

EynMarc: I sometimes have in a fight that my people never hit...
Hi, EynMarc. Sorry to take so long to respond here, I haven't been on this forum for a while.

There are a few things you can do to increase your chance to hit. A lot of it will be character design though which means for some of these things you might want to restart. That may be okay though since you are clearly very early in the game. Based on the enemies you are talking about you are still in the Lower Monastery.

The King Crab is a tough fight and you are probably level 2 when you get there. Gregor is even tougher though you are probably level 3 when you find him. The wolf spiders a little later can also be hard.

Gameplay tips:
* Clear out everything on the lower floor first before you go up to the second level of the Lower Monastery. When you do go up, use the bridge over the river instead of the ramp, since the ramp leads to Gregor. You will be able to find Burz this way and he could sell you things that might help.
* If you have a fighter, turn off the Berzerk ability. He will do less damage but his chance to hit improves.
* If anyone is dual wielding weapons, take away their off hand weapon before a big fight (and replace it with a shield if you have one). Dual wielding imposes a penalty on your weapon skill.
* If you have casters that can cast sleep or other debilitating spells, use them. If you have a bard you could use that Poet's Lute every round (and have a caster cast stamina to allow him to use that more). If you have a fairy, throw that Fairy Dust when you run out of spells (but have a character with a good throwing skill use them). When an enemy is asleep attackers have a bonus to hit and deal double damage. You might also have stink bombs and sneeze powder from Burz; both can be good.
* Your Weapon selection is limited at this point but definitely use weapons with a to-hit bonus or initiative bonus if possible. Shortswords are better than longswords at low level because of their initiative bonus; the damage is only one point less. Rapiers are great at low level though you probably have a Lord if you have one, but Burz does sell them sometimes. The Samurai's Katana also has a +1 to hit.

Character Build Tips:
* Having a good STR and DEX is the main way to improve your chance to hit, though STR only gives a bonus to hit for melee weapons (which is probably fine). Every 10 points above 50 gives a +1 to hit for both of those; STR is more important though because it also affects damage. Your main melee characters should have at least a starting STR of 60 and it is even possible to have 70 at this point if you picked the right race. Mook, Dwarf, Dracon, and Lizardman all have good starting STR, and usually can have decent DEX too.
* SEN also improves your chance to hit but only once you get it to 80 or higher. Hard to get that at your level.
* Some classes have a much slower start than others and at this level will struggle. Monks and Ninjas in particular sound very good but it is hard for them to have good stats at low levels. If you are a beginner I would avoid these classes.

Hope this helps.
