Basically, yes.

In the Upper Monastery, there is a large two-piece door. Normally, you open the right side, and when you try to go through, the game asks if you want to go to Arnika Road; if you say no, the game doesn't let you pass, and saying yes will take you to Arnika Road. However, if you try to go through the left side of the door, and you reach the part where the door meets the arch, the game will let you go through, taking you into the out-of-bounds area from which I took the screenshot. Just be aware that, if you go too far, you will fall through the ground and be crushed.
Well the devs either forgot to transform the terrain mesh of the left "door" into a dynamic object
(and delete the terrain mesh afterwards)
if we assume that this double door was intended to be like the others in the game,
or they missed to assign physical walls to the terrain mesh.
btw this glitch saves ~ 1sec in speedruns;)

To clip through a physical wall, go to a place where 2 meet in an acute angle,
e.g. it works rather well in Sadoks lab where the hidden potions are placed
and RUN ~1 min into the origin of the bisector of the angle created by the wall and the frame of the tube with goo.

If you try to walk towards it, towards what would be the outside wall of the monastery, you will fall off the ground, and the game will declare your party crushed. Similarly, as I mentioned earlier in this topic, if you walk far enough away from the monastery, you will fall through the ground and, again, the game will declare you crushed.

Basically, when you look out the monastery door, you see what looks like Arnika Road; however, the developers didn't expect anybody to actually walk there. Hence, the ground was made only solid to a certain distance, and if you look around, you will find that the ground simply ends. Furthermore, the outer wall of the monastery doesn't actually exist here, allowing you to see through it.

Unfortunately Wizardry 8 doesn't have a fly or levitate spell, so you can't actually make it through the wall and go back in bounds that way. (You can get back in bounds at the same spot you go OOB, and you can also go to the Arnika Road transition point, go to Arnika Road, and then re-enter the Upper Monastery. Or, of course, you could cast Return to Portal (if you know that spell and have a portal set, which you probably don't at this point).)

By the way, OOB in the Upper Monastery is a safe place to rest, and it's convenient because it's right before Arnika Road, which is one of the hardest parts of the game (on first visit).

dtgreene: Arnika Road
Is it one of these roads made to soothe the pain?
;P he he he

Oh these devs, always underestimating something burlesque called free time ;P

Great post dtgreene! Thanks for sharing!
