It's not a secret I am a big fan of Wizardry 8 and I bought it the first day it appeared, I am not sure about 6+7 package. There seems to be many technical problems people talk about. Also you might noticed bonus content is quite important for me (I couldn't stand quality of the first version of manual of W8 and had to "upgrade" it :D), what's more, this package has both official guide books that would be really nice to have. Could you please shortly describe the scan quality for me? I won't be angry if you add your experience from running both 6 & 7.

Thanks!
Virtually all of the technical problems for 7 exist only in the Gold version, which has always been buggy.

The only technical issue I've seen for 6 seems to be a DOSBox-related sound card issue, which has been fixed by a custom DOSBox install.

Personally 7 is one of my absolute favorite games of all time, even more so than 8. While it's a little clunkier, the text is very clever and the world is enjoyable. Plus you get to sail around on a magic steamboat; how cool is that?! The wandering NPCs add a whole extra layer of depth to the game, as it's nice that for once your adventuring party isn't the ONLY group on the planet capable of getting things done. Some of the optional boss fights are also great fun, especially the Gorrors and Godzylli.
Naturally I don't know what's your standard but to me the 6/7 cluebooks look perfect.
They were one of the reasons I bought those two games and it was worth it.

As for the technical problems, I don't have any. The Gold version was laggy but I can't stand it anyway so I just play the original Wiz7 - no problem with that one.
Wizardry 6 has some crashes related to the telepathy spell. Basically you can only use it on certain NPCs, and if you used it on ones you're not supposed to, I believe, the game can crash. That's about it from what I recall, though.

I'd definitely say get them. I think 6 is easily the fastest paced Wizardry game. While the graphics have some obnoxious quirks (I really would've preferred different wall sets for some of the other areas to improve navigation), it plays really well.

Wizardry 7 is brutal but VERY neat.
