I don't know when, maybe when leveling up in the inn, my neutral samurai is now a neutral lord.

I di d level my samurai to level 2 swap to the lord and level up to 5 (I think) then came back to the samurai to finish leveling up and know examining in the training grounds, he is a lord.

In Wizardry 1, it's not possible, or at least it's not supposed to be possible, to have a neutral lord. (Assuming no save editing or back transferring, and the latter isn't actually possible with this version, at least not at this time.)

* You can't start with a lord. (Even in versions where you can, you still have to be good to start as a lord.)
* In the training grounds, you can't change to a lord unless you're good, even if you meet the stat requirements.
* There's a mechanism for changing alignments, but it can't change an alignment to (or from, for that matter) neutral. A good character can become evil by attacking friendly enemies (1/2000 chance in the Apple 2 version), and in most versions (but not Apple 2) an evil character can become good by not attacking friendly enemies, but there's no way for a character to become neutral.
* Becoming a lord via item isn't an option. Wizardry 1 does have an unused invoke effect code to change the character into a lord (and another for samurai, for that matter), but no item has that effect assigned. (Wizardry 2's Metamorph Ring does have this effect.)

So, something strange must be going on. How were you able to get a neutral lord in the first place? (This sounds like a bug to me.)

(By the way, there's also code for a certain fountain that doesn't appear in Wizardry 1, but does appear in 2.)
It is a bug! A neutral lord is impossible in theory and the samurai was never good aligned.

It seems to me like a declinaison on bugs linked to leveling the character in the first slot (other have reported unimited level up or stat swap).
