I have played alot. Maybe 300 hours and have yet to see the following items. Maybe I have not been lucky enough or they may not be part of this version:

Shurikens
Dagger of Thieves
Garb of Lords
Gloves of Silver
Ring of Protection (+1)

I have found (2) Muramasa Blades, Dagger of Speed, Shield +3(Neutral)

I also found some Helms +2 (Neutral), but I lost them when I defeated Werdna and cannot find them again. Did they take them out of the update? Or maybe they only drop on different levels - creatures.

Anyhow, share you treasure info.

Thanks

btw the shield +3 (not evil) did not exist in the Apple II version; but I'll take it :)

Those items, at least the ones that exist, are incredibly rare.

I don't remember there being a Ring of Protection in the game. The only rings I remember are the Ring of Death (from the Monster Allocation Center; in some versions simply holding this will lower your health), the Ring of Healing (incredibly rare), and the Ring Pro Undead (also incredibly rare). (Apparently, the Ring of Death can drop randomly, but only from the second strongest category of monster.)

This page (in Japanese, but all the item/monster names are in English (from the Apple 2 version), and the percentages should be readable) lists all the item drop chances:

Edit: Also, that Shield +3 did exist in the Apple 2 version; it's just that it's as rare as the other items you mention (aside from the Gloves of Silver, which shouldn't be quite as rare).

I can confirm the Shuriken definitely exists, as I've gotten one. Proof (If it doesn't auto-move to the correct place, skip to about 1H28M). I've also had, but lost without Identifying (I got it on a run to Werdna that I succeeded in), a Vorpal Blade, AKA The Artist Formerly Known As The Blade Cusinart'.

Blade Cuisinart isn't that rare. It can drop from treasure types 16-19 (the range of treasure types that drop random items is 11-19; some enemies are 10 and don't drop items even if they drop a chest). From 19. you have a 50% chance of getting an item in the 54-80 range, and that's 27 items, so the chance of getting a specific item in that range is a bit under 2% (and remember that you can get it, albeit at a lower probability, from significantly easier encounters). The Blade Cuisinart/Vorpal Blade is item 59.

Thanks for your response. Yeah after looking at my old apple notes, their was not a ring of protection. The ring of death always drops from monster vault on the 4th floor. I never did get a shield +3 on the apple.

The Items that I have not seen, but should have with this much game play is the Garb of Lords, the Dagger of Thieves and of course the Silver Gloves... they should be way more common; but not one yet.

Keep me posted if you see any of those three items and perhaps what monster(s) they dropped from.

Thanks again :)

Awesome, do you happen to remember what monster(s) the Shuriken's dropped from, or what level of the dungeon?

Lol, the Artist formerly known as Vorpal Blade. It seems to drop fairly often, I have picked up maybe 7 or 8 so far.

Keep me posted on your valuable finds, I'd like to inform the Dev team if some of the items are AFK

Awesome finally found the Dagger of Thieves, listed in this version as Thieves Dagger....

Changed my level 49 thief to a level 49 ninja, kept all my thieves abilities, -7 AC naked, hitting 10 hits for about 80 hp with no weapon... not shabby. Picture below :)

No picture :(

Thing is, you can do better with equipment. Blade Cuisinart' (Vorpal Blade) should allow you to hit for around 140 damage (assuming 18 Strength), and you can do better for AC.

One word of advice: Don't trust your Ninja's trap inspection. If you do not have a Thief, *always* cast CALFO when you encounter a chest. (Note that this doesn't apply to disarming; Ninjas are still just as good as same-level Thieves at disarming traps, assuming you've somehow identified which trap it isl.)

Also, note that if your Ninja gets level drained, the game may try to increase the character's XP above the new remake's cap. I do not know whether the game handles this in a reasonable manner or not. (As opposed to, say, crashing or corrupting memory.)

Fixed the picture link. The thing about the ninja is it can melee a lot better then a thief, but retains the ability to disarm chests. I did notice that I mis-diagnosed some of the traps with ninja. I will start using CALFO. Can a ninja use the Vorpal Blade? And I have not checked what armor they can use also. I will have to do the level drain and see what happens, I would not mind going above the level cap, lol

I would suggest copying before you get level drained, as you probably won't be able to get back to level 49. (You're already above the ninja's level cap in this version.)

In Wizardry 1, Ninjas can use everything a Fighter can, plus Shurikens (rare and not a huge upgrade) and a few oddball items (think the Dagger of Speed, which doesn't make sense at your level).

In Wizardry 2, however, they can't use the Knight of Diamonds equipment.

Yep. I copy often.. had a bunch of characters that changed classes get f-ed when level drained. If they expand to Wiz2 I have kept a copy of ALL my saves.. level advances, class changes, etc.

I am convinced the Silver Gloves do not drop in this version.. they should fix that.... and maybe Garb of Lords although that is a VARY rare drop.
NICE, found the Silver Gloves, it appears the update corrected the treasure table.

Found on level 10 from a group of 4 Fire Dragons, treasure type S.

Just found Lord's Garb also :) On level 10, on a High Master.
