Wizardry was the first game I ever finished. I got the Chevron next to my name. I almost passed out actually. It was an experience unlike any other, before or since. I spent months mapping out the game, fighting overwhelming odds, and using my imagination to see the battles and the characters in my minds eye.
That was a looooooong time ago, and with graphics making the massive leaps and bounds it has (I have a 4090RTX) I can no longer play games that have "old school" graphics. I wish I could. But I cant. So whats my point?
I love Elves. In every game. BG3? Drow. Skyrim? Dunmar. Any game that offers an elf (except that horrible bards tale game where elves looked like snot covered humanoids) I play and elf.
I noticed in your game, and I realize its in beta, so im hoping this changes, you have 16 different portraits for female Elves, and I think 6 for male elves. Dwarves are just the opposite. When did the trope develope that Elves, Eldar, etc. are always female, and dwarves, etc are always male? And not to mention, the elvfin portraits for males are obviously cut and pasted. They all have the same face, essentially, and their hair is slightly different. What happened to Tolkein elves, or DnD elves? Long hair, pale skin, magically gifted (ill give you that). Your elves, male elves, look more like gnomes or halflings than actual male elves. Im hoping against hope that you will remedy this by release, or at the very least allow us to put our own images in for portraits, which is actually unfortunate because I really like the art style in the game, I just cant stand how you did male elves. You obviously put a ton of time into female elves, and none into male elves. Im hoping theyre just placeholders for now.
Ah. I just noticed another thread below mine that has custom portraits. Thats good at least. But id really love to see some actual male elves that look cool. Not like my 13 yr old daughters BFF.
