It says in game that it is important to backup characters. How would one go about saving the characters? I do not see a folder for them in docs or the install path.

C:users/whatever you named your computer/appdata/local/murphy and copy the saved folder to another place.

If you ever need to reload the characters from that point, just replace the saved folder with the one you stored in another place

Thank you :)
This does not work. There must be some file, that is backing up the Murphy folder. I have not located it yet, but I will continue to try.

On the old apple 2, I could copy the scenario disk. This is ridiculous. I hate losing hours of my time.
Don't backup the whole /saved folder. Go to /saved/SaveGames and make a copy of the Player Data file

Thank you.. duhh, should have seen that file the first time

I hope it works.
Yeah, that did not work. It seems the game is saving in multiple places.

Do you have to copy the global file also? It did not work to just copy the player data.
I didn't lose my whole party yet. For me it works just fine for going back to before a bad fight or really bad stats in levelup.

Are you by chance using Galaxy and have cloud saves enabled? Then the files you're looking for are in the cloud, not on your computer in /AppData.

I found it in /AppData. I was copying the ones in the install path... in the downloads file. This should work. Thank you very much. I have the cloud setting set to disabled.

So I have done extensive testing of this and I have found that you can copy the savegame folder and paste it back for a backup. The playerdata file auto updates about every 5 minutes, which is enough time to get thru most of level 10. I will look at the modified date/time of the playerdata file and make sure its current before copy. I only wait the 5 minutes if I have had a really good exp battle or have found a good piece of gear. Thank you for your input!

I made a .Bat file in my save folder and made a short cut for my other monitor desktop that copy's the save file to a .bak file when ran.

copy PlayerData_0_v1.sav PlayerData_0_v1.sav.bak
