So, a few people have mentioned hoping that keybinds can be altered, but I haven't seen any confirmation about whether or not that's the case. I also haven't seen any questions or hopes stated about gamepad controls being remappable. So, because this seems like a game I'd probably use my controller for, I have to question if the controls will be customisable. What I've seen of the game so far suggests that whichever control option I end up preferring, I'm not going to be a fan of the defaults, so I will want to change around some of the inputs.

Anyone with the game able to confirm this one way or the other?

There definitely is a "Controller Binding" area in the Options menu which seems to be what you are looking for.
Admittedly I have not tested if it actually works (games can have the weirdest bugs after all) but one would hope so.
