I've finally gotten around to playing WC4 after a very long time, and it is running at a pretty much unplayable rate on my computer. If it was DOSBox I could probably fix it, but as it is there don't seem to be any settings for me to change (apart from the general Compatibility ones in Windows).

Space flights are practically impossible (due to jumping around too much when moving). Even on space ships the mouse jumps all over the place instead of moving smoothly (or even semi-smoothly). I even have to hold the mouse button down for a while before it registers the click.

Anyone have any ideas for improving the speed of the game? I've always been able to get games working on newer computers, but this GOG version seems to have tied my hands.

What are your system specs? Do you have anything else running in the background?

Quad core, 2.66GHz. 4GB RAM. And nothing else running.

It should be fine, but it's not. Maybe it's Windows 8... I'll try in 7.

Yeah, this wasn't tested at all in win8. It's something we can look into later but it's possible directinput just doesn't work the same anymore.
