I think I'm missing something here. Adjusting the power to my systems in the VDU doesn't seem to change anything. Putting full power into my engines doesn't affect my top speed at all, and I haven't seen a difference in my other systems while adding more power to them as well. Taking away power from my engines DOES slow me down, but I see no positive effects. I'm still only on the first mission and each waypoint is so far from one another that it's taking 5-10 minutes of flying in a straight line to get there. Is this just my modern gamer mentality or am I missing a way to go faster (that doesn't burn away my fuel like afterburners). Can someone explain this to me?

AFAIK increasing power to the engines only improves accelleration when you bleed off speed when manouvering but you should notice increase in weapon and shield reload when you increase power there.

As for the waypoints being far away, you need to press "A" to autopilot there. ;)
