First a short backstory.
I played WC1 a tiny bit on my A1200 back in 1993-94. Not much.
I played to completion WC3,4,5, more than once, all back in the 90s.
Never played WC2, or at least if I did I doubt I did more than a mission or two.

Recently I started playing WC1 for my Twitch stream and finished it probably for the first time. I am talking about the GOG version.
It was a fun ride. I also tried the secret missions 1 and after my first failed campaign I decided to leave it.

Earlier tonight I started playing WC2 for my stream and I was shocked at first in how more smooth it was, but at the same time the game felt like too fast. WAY too fast. Reducing the cycles did not seem to change much other than dropping the framerate while still being too fast.

Also the "A.I" of both enemy and friendly craft seem to have a very strong desire to ram my craft. The friendly AI to also keep getting in front of me.

Then there are times where the enemy craft seem to be zipping around in impossible speeds.

Have they changed the game so much or am I experiencing some weird glitch/bug/whatever?

I am about 10 missions in WC2 and the issues were not a one mission thing. It's always there.

EDIT: OK I gave up on the game. The game is broken. Worst experience compared to all the other main games. Surprisingly not because of the speed so much as of the AI. Both friendly and enemy crafts just approach you and ram you. I have died so many times from out of the blue rams that it's not even funny. I am done with this.
Back to the other games of the series which don't actually SUCK BALLS.
