This is a pretty common problem apparently, when I try to start the game it gets stuck on the dosbox with 'expanded memory' as it's last line. Running as admin doesn't do anything (this account is already an admin) and when I try to run from the graphics configurer it tells me the game isn't installed. I Installed it from the gog downloader, don't know what's up. Tried reinstalling. This is on windows 7, 32bit.

I restarted my computer and the game is at least working now. However I'm getting a lot of lag sometimes, I believe changing the renderer will help but I'm still getting the Game Not Installed error when I try to use the Graphic Mode Setup.exe. Does anyone know how to get it to work?

I managed to get it running by starting it through the 'Graphic Mode Setup' program that comes with both Wing Commander and Wing Commander II.

Same issue as the others, it won't start, hangs in Dos Box after "Expanded Memory Detected". Graphics Mode Setup.exe just says "game not installed" when I do Save Changes or Start Game.

Update: right-click on shortcut, Compatibility, Run as Administrator. Success!!
