MickiB: Its 64bit windows 7, yes.
i played around a bit, and copied the Mpeg2DecFilter.ax into the respective windows folder. The register.bat did its job afterwards without an error, but still nothing for the black screen ingame. Dont even know if that was a valid option for success, but i really want to play that game on my machine. So if theres any chance to get it to run, i'd appreciate that.

awesomead: Have you tried playing the videos themselves in windows? Do they work?

Sometimes register.bat has to be run several times before windows gives mpeg2dec priority when decoding mpeg2 videos... Try running unregister and then register again. I've had people tell me they've had to do this up to eight times even.

Alternately, have you tried using the K-like codec pack and then using the included utility to make sure windows is associating VOBs with it?
tried a good 15 times with unregister and register.bat, and checked if k-lite associated the VOBS with its. Still no change. I can run the videos seperately out of the game but while playing it stays black.

Can you please tell me a little more about your actual machine? Which processor is it running? Is this a laptop? What kind of video card are you running?

MickiB: I can play the Missions just fine, theres sound in the Videos but the actual Video sequences stay black.
Running the game on a Windows 7 pro system, with latest drivers. Tried the differen codec packages and also disabling firewall/antivirus software but nothin seems to work.

Really a shame, cause its such a great game...
It turns out that a few people with the "sound but no picture" problem were running multiple monitors. Disabling the secondary monitors fixed the issue.

Short of disabling your secondary monitors (I agree that it's an inelegant solution) for now you can look in your Video card settings and there may be video passthrough options for forcing DVD and such to an externally connected TV. Changing these settings may help, or as above you can just disable the seconary screen.

Please let me know how it goes. We might have a better solution to this in the future but if you have no luck with the other suggestions so far please give this a try.

Just tried disabling the secondary monitor and now it works like a charm. Though it may not be the most elegant solution it still is better than not being able to enjoy the cutscenes in the game.

So, before iam off to play now, thanks a lot for sticking with my problem. I'm really glad it works now.

Awesome! Glad you got it working. Finally good to know we're narrowing down the serious issues.
the problem that I'm having is that on gameplay and menus only half of the screen appears.what should I do?
The guys with black screens in video sequences could give VLC Media Player a try.
