Hi all!

I've just installed Wing Commander 3 for the first time as I never played it before, and I'm using the keyboard. Decided to start with the training missions before taking the main history, and did the first 4 of them very easily.

But when I reached Training Missions 5 and 6 (and changed to a different ship), suddenly the "down" directional key starts to fail, responding veeeeery slowly, and even stop working.

If I go back to the first missions with the other ship there's no problem and it works like a dream again. But when I enter mission 5 or 6 and change the ship, the "down" key starts to fail again :(

If I keep pressed the "Mays" key, the problem seems to dissappear, but I would like to know if there's any other solution for this issue tan just keep pressed Mays all the time if I'm forced to use any of those ships in the main history :(

I tried to search for the solution but just found one or two posts exactly with the same problem as I, but with no apparent solution:

Could someone help me with this? :(

I must disappoint you, but WC 3 has probably the most fucked up control configuration among all the "main storyline" WC games I have played. Which is bad, because this game's campaign contains the breakpoint and grand finale of the Terran-Kilrathi War.

You have only two options:

1. Mouse control - you won't have any problems with steering when switching controls to mouse, but you will lose the ability to use the "afterburner" and "toggle afterburner" keys ( [Tab] and [`] ). The afterburner is activated by double-click'n'holding the RMB, but you are not able to shoot from guns or steer the ship while activated.

2. Joystick control - get/buy yourself a joystick. It will sure come in handy, especially when you're planning to play WC 4 and WC:P after that as well. In that case it won't be an investment you will regret (trust me).
