This game is great, but I have one problem.

It's a pain to try to adjust speed during combat using the "+" and "-" buttons.

Is there a way to bind them to the mouse wheel so scrolling forwards increases speed and scrolling backwards decreases it?

the easiest way would be to set your mouse software to do that for you. Some gaming mice even have a profiler that reads the executable used and automatically sets the profile you set up previously. I have a logitech g700 and that's what I do. Mousewheel for speed, the four thumb buttons for wingman commands, mousewheel tilt for roll, middle button for target lock, and the three extra finger buttons for gun and missile select and fire
