I have read a lot of complaints about the sensitivity of the joystick. I have tried editing the config files and changing the sensitivity from 100 to 1 made absolutely no difference. I noted that the settings referred to the mouse and I did not find anything specifically directed to the joystick sensitivity.

I have tried Thrustmaster basic joy stick and the Hotax X game controllers. I tried a couple others and they did not help. What am I overlooking? Is there any way to control sensitivity of the joystick in the config files? If so, what do I need to add (changing the sensitivity settings for mouse/joystick in the config files has no effect what-so-ever.)

I have been playing this game since the 1990s and I would really like to be able to track my targets. I fear that I will never finish this game until I can control the joystick. Also, Is there a joystick that has it's own settings, and capable of over-riding the DOS Box config files?
