Is there a way to transfer my game character from, say, WC1 to WC2 or can you only do that within the emulation you're currently playing?

I don't remember the exact details but it can be done by copying the save file of WC1 or the save file of SM2 to the WC2 directory.
The instructions should be in the manual/install guide.
