Hey, I can't get this game to run, no matter what I try. I launch the game, and my screen goes dark, but an error sounds. I can't see the error, the only way to move forward is to use the task manager to end the error. After I do that, I get another error that I have to end with the task manager. We are still just on a blank black screen as far as what the game shows.
Then an error pops up in game that I can see, and is says it can't find "C:/vob/suchandsuchvideofile.vob"
Then, if I end those errors, it will say something like "This pisses me off" with white text, then nothing else."
If I continue in this annoying path, I can eventually get direct to game play, eventhought I never touched a menu.
I tried copying my vob folder out of my /gog/wingcomander/ folder just straight to the c drive, and when i started the game then I got a menu! But I still got an error when I started a game.
Heck I even tried to copy the whole game just straight into my c:/ with no folder, but that didn't help. I got an error saying something about virtual something failing.
I have unplugged my other monitor.
I am running Windows 7 starter on a HP mini netbook. Atom processor.
If you guys could help at all that would be wonderful!

Win7 starter doesn't come with DVD software installed. Try installing the cccp codec pack or klite codec pack (google them) see what happens.

Thank you so much! That fixed it!
...now if I can just get my mouse to work... Haha.

Is it working at all? Or just not in space flight? The game defaults to keyboard I think so you need to set your input method in the options menu. Press Alt-O inflight, select mouse and hit save,
Ignore this. Posted here by accident.
