I'm trying to get WCP working on my new laptop. It's running Windows 10, and is rocking a Geforce 1070 graphics card.

I've done the usual steps:
1) installing WCP
2) Installing the Enhancement Pack sans the Prophecy.exe and WCPHR.DLL files
3) Installing the OpenGL pack
4) Creating a folder called "Movie" and move the unzipped VOBs from the CIC website there
5) Removing the Win98 compatibility mode for all users on the Prophecy.exe.

(I'd add the links to the files and instructions in question, but apparently I'm not allowed to because I'm a newb. Would it have hurt GoG to at least show an error message explaining why I was unable to submit this message?)

In short, the exact same steps I've used to get it working before.

However, I'm not getting any video. All movies are just back screens. The subtitles seem to be working. I know WMP doesn't support MPEG2 stuff, but I thought the latest version of the OpenGL patch removed the dependency on directdhow?

All other stuff works. Sound, resolutions, controls, everything. And if I remove the VOBs I get the usual low-res movies. Playing just fine.

I mean, it's not the end of the world, I can still enjoy the game and everything but... Just wondering if anyone else has been having the same issue.
Not sure what the patch does exactly because I didn't try it myself, but I'm pretty sure OpenGL doesn't handle video playback as that is something the cpu needs to encode, so my guess is you need some sort of codec.

Hasn't the patch documentation explaining this?
Alright, so the closest I've gotten to getting the DVD movies to work is by using "LAVfilters", a set of FFMPEG based DirectShow filters.

Well... I can watch the movies, but not well. They're played in a small subwindow, while a larger window (apparently created to display subtitles) makes a poor attempt at fullscreen. See attached image.

So I see two problems: 1) the subwindow with the movie is way too small. 2) the larger subtitle window is behind the tark bar.

I will continue to look for a better codec...

EDIT: New finding: If I uninstall LAVfilters, convert the movies into something Windows Media Player can play, rename the converted files to *.VOB, then the movies play - but with the same problem of having a failed fullscreen window for the subtitles and a too-small video window.

This means the problem is unlikely to be resolved by codec...

EDIT 2: A few minutes of tinkering and... Well, just run the game in windowed mode. Somehow, the fullscreen OpenGL threw the whole thing off.
