Privateer is pretty much okay for me, it runs without problem. But the thing is, if I try to run away from enemies, it always crash. Let say a patrol mission, if I runs away from nav 1, and the enemy still following me, its OK. I arrived at Nav 2 and runs away from the enemy there, still OK. But the moment I try to runs away from Nav 3, after a while the game will crash and I'm returned to Windows. Is there a limit on how many enemy can follow you at one time (even from far away?)

I'm not aware of any limit like that. Are you getting an error message you can show us?
No, both the game and Dosbox crashed, returning me to Windows.

Anyway, I'm in the final mission now. It just that I could never use the *runs away* strategy of 5 nav point patrolling. So I also took bountry mission, considering I have to fight the enemy anyway.
I have the same. In the third Taryn Cross mission I try to run away in gamma system along four nav points, and it works. Until I reach a fixed destination or time, just before I can jump back to gamma system, the gog game crash to desktop. I tried it several times and flew the nav points in different order.

OK, now I try to fight the Kilrathi in the gamma system and report here if it works.

OK, it works. This time I fought the enemy and could complete the mission without crash :-)

It would be interesting to find out whether this is also the case with the original version.

Without this post here, I would probably have spent many more hours looking for the solution. Thanks @fablefox :-D

That is very interesting. I've never had that happen to me, and I run away from enemies quite often, particularly after I get the most powerful ship. It's faster to just hit the nav point and afterburn away.

Although, now that I write this, I wonder if maybe it's a memory limitation thing for if you're not *that* much faster than the enemy, and the enemy just follows you forever. In that case, you might be collecting 1, 2, 5, 8, 15 enemies following you, and maybe you're hitting an upper limit on the number of objects the game can track at one time?
