Hi, all. ^_^

Always liked the Wing Commander series, ever since playing the first one on SNES back in the day. Being a console-gamer (am onto Ps4 mostly nowadays), I only played 1, 3 and 4, but now bought some of the others via this site.

Anyway.......
How do you guys like III ? I never knew Mark Hamill was the actor behind Luke Skywalker, since never caught his name when watched the first Star Wars films; cool that celebrities joins the game world. :D Think this game was more of a movie, but liked playing it still. The way the game mechanics worked between film-scenes and c.pit gameplay felt abit ahead of it's time.

Might have misheard it, but there was a rumour that Jason Bernard (Captain Eisen) passed some time after the fourth game. :( Will always remember good actors.

Also liked the small display of girlpower in the game. Flint was my favorite wingman; she had a cute, yet also a tiny bit strong attitude, and even seemed a little taller than Blair.

Sit down, let me get us some drinks, and we'll chat more about this quite cool interactive movie game. :D
Hey fellow WC III comrade, :)

Wing Commander III was my first Wing Commander game and one of the first games I bought (I was a filthy software pirate back then).
My brothers PC at the time (which I confiscated) could barely run it and the game would often crash but I still played it to the end because I really wanted to beat this game.
Though looking at it now the story is a bit formulaic, it did make you feel like the big hero at times in a good way, which I've rarely experienced ever since.
The spaceflight part, which at the time was pretty impressive with it's SVGA graphics and fully textured spaceships, was amazing back then, though now I'm so spoiled with smooth 60fps gameplay it's hard to go back and even then I would rather play X-Wing or Tie Fighter because of the deeper gameplay.

As for the actors I think I only vaguely recognized John Rys Davies from the Indiana Jones movies. It was hinted in the end credits as Biff ehr Thomas Wilson says something like he was that guy from Star Wars that I later found out Mark Hamill was Luke Skywalker. Also noteworthy is Rachel who has had a rather interesting career. :P

Anyway, the actors really did a good job, well the whole production team did as the Wing Commander games still set the bar for FMV in videogames.

So all in all I have nothing but good memories (apart from the crashes) for this game.
