I've seen countless post regarding this game stating that you really cant fully appreciate it without a flight stick. I've got a really nice Logitech Rumble pad and I've played all sorts of other flight sims and space shooters on it with no loss of quality (it's the only controller I recommend for X-Wing games) so I can't imagine it would be bad with the WC series, but obviously the folks in here would know way better than me. Also on a finacial note I payed a good chunk of change for the game pad and I don't want to fork over another 60 for good flight stick unless it is an absolute must. Any thoughts? Thank You

tinyE: Any thoughts?
This is just my opinion, but I think learning to play it on a gamepad will be pretty difficult. I often find that I have to make some rather fine adjustments to my course that I don't think I could pull off with a thumbstick. Maybe that says more about my motor skills than it does about gamepads, I don't know.

On the other hand, if you do go get a joystick, don't bother buying a really fancy-pantsy expensive one. A Logitech Attack 3 for about $20 will work just fine for the Wing Commander games. You only need a really advanced flight stick for the hard core sims like Jane's.

Great, I'll go with the lesser expensive Logitech. They make all of my other stuff too. I wish I'd made this a question because you just saved me a headache and I owe you for that. Best I can do is +1 and thank you again.

Do you plan on getting Star Citizen though?? I would buy a bit more fancy one if that is the case.
edit: a little late for my suggestion though :p

Ha! I wish. My computer is WAY too old for anythihg like that. Thats why I love GOG, great games that don't kill you on specs!
Same here my PC is about 6 years old at this point so I don't think I will be getting Star Citizen.

I agree about GOG I love all the games that my system can play with ease, and the fact that many games I love but lost because they were to old and would'nt work on newer systems are now playable.
