Is it just me or is there a pronounced difference in the game's AI depending on the version of DOSBox you use? I've played WC1 with DOSBox 0.74 and it seems fairly normal, but with the recent Daum Cafe build, I get entirely annihilated by the Kilrathi and my wingmen are constantly asking for assistance.

This is the same dosbox.conf. I've checked back and forth and managed to replicate this behaviour, but it is really quite weird. Differences in CPU emulation perhaps? Anyone else encountered this?
Not sure if it's the same issue you describe, but:

I noticed my game recently got INSANE difficult. Maybe it's the normal progression of WC1 missions (I never played it when it originally came out), but the difficulty just seems to have gone from what I'd consider normal to being dead after taking maybe 2 or 3 hits. It's like one hit takes my shields down and the second one I'm dead.

I've been playing with different DOSBox builds and settings and I have noticed some odd weapon behaviour -mainly shots that actually fly sideways instead of along the ship's heading, and shots that don't seem to "register" hits. They explode on the hull but cause no damage. I have no idea if that's even possible with the way WC is programmed but that's what I seem to be observing.

Most of these oddities seemed to crop up when me and a wingman are taking on 3-5 enemy fighters. That's a lot of ships in game at once. I'm still tweaking things to try and fix it, but it's actually gotten so difficult its frustrating.

It's worse when I use higher processor settings (486 for example). I've read that GOG's default DOSBox.conf settings are poor for WC1, but honestly almost every tweak I've made has actually made the game worse -including using other builds.
