They are all plagued with BS issues, WC1 has the speed issue, WC2 has the same speed issue, alt+tabbing breaks audio, and it won't save no matter how many times i hit yes to save and enter save name. Why is it GOG consistently chooses the worst most busted versions of games to put on the store when there are better versions available to use?

None of these are present in the Kilrathi Saga versions with the WCDX patch

Are the speed issues just needing DOSBOX cycles changed? I'm playing WC3 right now and just wishlisted 1+2 for the next sale because I'd like to experience the earlier story. Sad to hear they have issues.
I find this thread is wildly unfair.
People who are interested in game of this era usually have some available dos-kung-fu in store.

WC1 is playable, you just need to adjust sensitivity in your dosbox setting.
And they are still immersive and VERY fun to play - though I am on WC1 here, so I cannot comment on WC2 yet.

Dialog, music, atmosphere are excellent.
I was surprised at how good it was for a game of 1991.

But yes, we definitely need to change at least the sensitivity or it becomes very difficult to play.
Also remember you can change the speed of your ship (and use turbo) and you need to avoid getting shot.

Someone posted some dosbox settings which I copy paste here:
I only changed the sensitivity which I added, and if fixes the high dpi mouse we use today, when using them in this game.

(in dosboxWC.conf file, you just need to add these lines at the bottom of the file)

I think GOG should apply these settings by default in this game.
