I get to a DOS screen that says "running INSTALL.DAT" on one line, and "running WING COMMANDER. Please Wait..." on the next line. The line after that says "Expanded Memory Detected," It then just sits on this screen as if it's waiting for me to input a command, but I don't get any response when I try to type something. Little Help?

Windows 7 64-bit
3.0GHz hex-core processor
8GB Ram
Radeon HD6550 Video Card

Edit: before the INSTALL.DAT line, it says "Drive C is mounted as local directory. 1KB allocated (for WC2 it says the same thing, only 32KB allocated)"

If the run as admin fix jwa11 mentions doesn't work, try changing your compatibility mode to windows xp.

I had the same problem as the orriginal poster and changing the compatibility mode to Windows XP fixed the problem.

To set the compatibility mode:

1) Right-Click on the Wing Commander icon and select properties.
2) Select the Compatibility tab.
3) Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box
4) Select "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" in the drop down.
