I'd love to try this game. Any help appreciated.
That version of Unity using library files from DirectX 9.0c, make sure you have it installed. For first glance I can't see anything else here other than the inability of catching which is caused by the lack of driver.

If I understand right, the game can't start up, right? It isn't crashing at a certain point of running but completelly unable to start.

That's correct. There's a pop-up window with an error (looks like a custom message generated by the game) immediately when I double-click the icon. I've tried different compatibility modes and running as administrator.

I was running nVidia 397.31. I updated to 398.82 and that seems to have resolved the issue. I also uninstalled all of the nVidia stuff besides the driver and PhysX.
Then good. I have no idea what caused the issue. Probably the card's driver updated something else too, because my XP computer has even older driver and capable of running the game.

Thank you for the help. This is a very pretty and fun little game. At < 100 MB, quite a feat.

I will need to send my compliments to the developer. This reminds me a bit of Banished - 1 man project, small in size but really lovely and special game.

For me it is like Sid Meier's Pirates! without the story. Actually most games I play are single man projects: Ultimate Knight Windom XP, Soul Saber 2, Dysnomia ExBurst, but those have created their own engines to suit the game's needs.

If I can say something then this is what I would love to see here. Windward really need a specific engine to fix all these little problems like the startup or the unoptimized graphical performance, as well it would give a lot of new options to implement. :)
