What does "easy to control combat with 360-degree aiming" mean? Does this game feature gamepad controller compatibility?

And by the way: this looks totally awesome.

I have been playing this game for a bit and I tried it with my Xbox controller but it didn't work. Also, there is nothing in the options about gamepads... so I don't think it has gamepad compatibility. It is a pretty awesome game though.
AWOL do you mind starting up an "impressions" thread? I'm curious about the game - specifically how much the building / crafting is incorporated. The GoG trailer showed a lot of the Contra action. How big a role does building play? I'm looking for a "doesn't need to be Minecraft, but more than an optional side activity that can be ignored" - more building is better, but I don't want it to be 95% of the game. Thanks!

I haven't played to much of the game, but when I play more I'll try to make one.

I would imagine it means you aim with the mouse, all around the character on the 2D plane, whilst movement is done with keyboard, just like Terraria does.

I noticed it doesn't state Vista as a compatible OS. Ah well, guess I won't be looking at it whilst I still have this machine.

Hey!

At the moment, Windforge isn't compatible with any controllers. Only a keyboard & mouse.

The mouse permits 360 degrees aiming!
Thanks awolnation, korell and snowedinstudios for your replies. +1 to you all.

Another question to the Dev (which I guess is snowedinstudios):

Does "at the moment" mean you're planning on adding gamepad compatibility?

Heck, I think I'll buy the game anyway...

Edit: And a second question: On some screenshots, everything appears to be zoomed in (as can be seen
when comparing the sprite sizes vs. the UI). Does this game have a zoom function?

From videos, yes it does. Pretty essential feature considering your airship barely fits the screen when zoomed in.

The game is zoomed in on your character when your cursor is near him/her, but can zoom out a bit and pan as you move it towards the edges of the screen, kind of like the sniper scope accessory in Terraria. It also zooms out when you're flying your ship (and it can still pan).

This ^. Also, if you have a scope or a sniper with a scope equipped, it zooms out more and you can still pan with the cursor.
Thank you all for clarifying.
