If your having a crash on start its possibly caused by the game videos needing the "Media Features" bit installed in Windows.
That is if you are on Windows N or presumably KN or any that remove media player you will need to download the media features pack from microsoft.
If you are not on those editions of windows then check in the Windows features bit of Programs and Features and check that "Media Features" is enabled, either ticked or a black box. You don't need to enable Windows Media Player.
Overall I'm thinking this is a real technical mess frequent crashing and the dialogue is less than flowing with overly long pauses at the end of every line.
