The manual says that you'll have to always give certain code when the game asks it, but at least at the front door of the Waxworks game seems to accept any code. I was wondering if the GOG version is cracked or if giving the wrong code creates a dead end which becomes obvious only later (some games did that that back in the good old days).

Also the text seems to refer to letter which I should read before playing, but the manual doesn't seem to include that.

The copy protection is disabled in GoG version of Waxworks, so any code will be accepted.
Thanks. I had too many experiences back in the day about games where you gave the wrong code and ended up wandering endlessly, because critical item disappeared from the game/door didn't open etc. thanks to copy protection. Giving wrong answer was way too easy, because sometimes it was difficult to interpret the symbols and other times I didn't know where the manual was.

So, I just wanted to be sure before starting the Waxworks.

Although the game protection has been removed, still you must enter the code that GOG has included in the manual of the game. You must use the same code through the game.
