It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I've been looking forward to playing this game with my friend, ever since it was announced that the game would feature co-op multilplayer. Now Wasteland 3 has finally arrived, and my friend and I were eager to get started. The problem is that multiplayer appears to be broken to the point that we can't even start playing.

First of all, when we go to the lobby browser, it's completely empty. There are no games to be found. This seemed to be a sign that something was not right. Either way, I tried hosting a private game and invite my friend to join.

When I click the "invite friends" button in a private game, absolutely nothing happens. No reaction whatsoever.

My friend cannot find the game in the lobby browser, if I host a public game and my friend filters to 'friends only'.

We then tried direct connect (flashing back to the 90's/00's when direct connect was still a thing), and the game attempts to connect for a few seconds before the connection fails.

After some mostly fruitless research on Google (no official sources for troubleshooting popped up), one suggestion was to first start a single player game and create a save file, before trying to play multiplayer. So we did, but the results were the same.

We have tried all these things in reverse, as well, alternating who's hosting and who's joining or connecting via direct connect. No dice.

My friend plays on Steam, and I play via GOG Galaxy, and I've made sure to merge the friends list and accounts.

So is the multiplayer part of Wasteland 3 nonfunctional, or has anyone else gotten it to work on PC?

Help... :(

First of all, it should be noted that you need to an open port for the game to use. The default one (UDP 7777) is usually closed on most routers.

Also I recommend using the tricks used in this topic. This is how my friend and I managed to play with eachother as we could technically connect but not start the game.

Thanks for the reply. We did try to open the port before connecting, but it still wouldn't work. :(

I'll look through the workarounds posted in your link - thanks!
