I can't seem to "view" characters. The View button on the bottom toolbar, whether I click on it with the cursor or press V, does nothing.
I also can't equip weapons or armor unless I'm in combat. That may be something I'm doing wrong or maybe that is typically done through the view portal? If I select the Use button to try and equip a leather jacket, for instance, I'm asked which direction I want use it in and no matter what I select nothing happens.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Push the number key that corresponds to that character (1-7), the keys above letters, not the keypad (until later patch). Then select Items, find the item you want to equip and click on it and select Equip/unequip to equip it.

The View command is used to switch between your groups, after you've disbanded your characters into up to 2-4 groups.
