I do enjoy this game but I find all of my frustrations come with interfacing with things and people in the world. My latest one is the pump in Highpool. I finally got hold of an engine and I go back to the pump and I can't figure out how to install it. I "use" the engine while in various positions around the pump and everytime nothing happens. What is the secret to getting the engine repaired?

In case anyone comes looking for this, I figured it out. The trick seemed to be to stand one step away from the wall. I kept walking back and forth along the wall.
