The store advertises as available for Mac OS X 10.6.8 (or newer), yet when opening the application, I get message saying I need OS X 10.8, and doesn't open. I'm running 10.6.8. I can't play this game :(

UPDATE:
I've got a good response back from Thomas Beekers from inXile via twitter (thanks to Brian Fargo), and he responded:

"@Radutron George, with our next patch WL1 will be compatible with 10.6, but that's not live on GOG.com yet. Working on it."

Sweet.

You can get 10.9 for free from Apple. Whats holding you back?

10.9 breaks some other games. Besides he may not want it yet.

Store listing is updated to 10.8 now, but a future update should bring it back down to 10.6.

My answer is "Apple".

Quad core MacPro with plenty of ram, upgraded GPU and... well doesn't matter what I got because this model got ticked as "not supported" for 10.9, for no good reason, so I can't even download the installer to see if I could get it running.

I could buy an upgrade from 10.7. to 10.8. but... mehh..

A computer that has the audacity to be more than four years old. I don't expect it to run everything, but running a 25-year-old game seems reasonable.

Mines June 2009 & March/April 2009 :) tbh I consider modern comps running 25 year old games somewhat of a miracle, particularly when it's a completely different platform :)

You are correct, Gydion. I don't want any new OS yet. Besides a gaming device, my computer is also a live tool for my band. Currently all my programs and drivers work harmoniously, audio-wise. I won't consider an OS upgrade until after our upcoming tour later this month.
Mac update is up :)
