halldojo: This is a euro/usd conversion thing, since we live in Iceland gog assumes we use the euro instead of the usd. If you convert the prices in your "Settings-> Account and Locale" to use the euro you will get the price as 69,99 euro.
Atlantico: Right, but what I mean is the game is still available to me on Steam for USD 59.99, in Iceland. It's sold for USD 58 on the Microsoft Store on Windows 10. On gog.com it is USD 71.40. What currency is used isn't really relevant.
It doesn't change the core issue, that gog.com is selling the game way more expensive than Steam is. Perhaps Steam has another regional pricing for Icleand than gog.com, but I would encourage gog.com to match Steam, regardless.
Steam and MS might assume we use the dollar it also might be dependent on what region your account is registered in on steam and what page you use for MS, if you go to the icelandic shop for MS they should charge you in ISK, while gog.com assumes we use the euro.
Thats the thing, they usually do not convert the difference, people in europe pay as many euros as americans pay dollars, 59.99, but if you convert the currency that you have been set to to another one you will get a different number.
I have seen this happen also at greenmangaming, humble bundle does not do this.
I remember a few years back gog would give wallet money(store credit) for the difference but they seem to have stopped doing that. Don´t get me wrong, I totally agree with you, this sucks for us being overcharged in a currency that we do not use.
Edited :
I just noticed that the price for the standard version on my computer is 59.99$, how is it on your side now?
Edit 2 :
Nm that, on my desktop it shows 71.40$ but on my laptop 59.99$...
