They showed up when I started a first playthrough to get a feel for the game. I started a second playthrough after a couple hours to play for real and the DLC items didn't appear. Then my saves from the first playthrough disappeared, though I assume that's a separate issue.

Are you using the offline installer? If you did that there is the problem, you could install GOG Galaxy 2.0 and activate the DLC from there. Don't worry, they will fix the offline installer, maybe with this week patch!!

Ruvika: Are you using the offline installer? If you did that there is the problem, you could install GOG Galaxy 2.0 and activate the DLC from there. Don't worry, they will fix the offline installer, maybe with this week patch!!
No, I installed through GoG Galaxy.
